Hi, I’m Ashley,

I grew up in the Midwest, in a small town in the country, where I spent my childhood climbing trees, sledding, swimming, enjoying clouds, and coloring on the porch. I love learning and seeing more of the beauty and complexity of the natural world, and this excitement of learning spills over into my work. The subjects that interest me most are those that tell a story, to be specific, a story that holds emotion. I’m inspired by historical settings and historical stories especially. My style and work is heavily influenced from retro illustration and design. Such as the work of Robert McCloskey, E.H. Shephard, and Leonard Weisgard.

When not working on artwork I enjoy taking long walks, working on my home decor store, The Patina Company, learning new things, and reading a good book.
